Obituary for Serena G. Thomas
Serena G. Thomas, age 39, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, March 3, 2019, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born February 13, 1980, in Cambridge, daughter of Sharon K. Moore Womack of Byesville and the late Samuel G. Womack. Serena was a 1998 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and Mideast Career Center in Zanesville, where she was a student in the police science program. She also attended Zane State College. She was employed by Advance D.D. Care, LLC in Columbus as a direct support professional, and she was a state licensed developmental disabilities provider. Serena was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. She enjoyed collecting glass figurines, gardening, cooking, and baking, and she was devoted to her family, friends, and her clients.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by one brother, Samuel George Womack, Jr.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Nathan J. Thomas, whom she married in January, 2015; two daughters, Sefera S. Workman, age 10, and Simone C. Thomas, age 4, both of the home; her siblings, Noelle C. (Andrew) Morgan of Pleasant City, Joe C. (Stephanie) Womack of Byesville, and James S. (Shannon) Womack of Pleasant City; her grandmother, Evonna Womack of Sarahsville; her grandfather, Albert M. Canu of Caldwell; her mother-in-law, Ruthann Ramsey of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, March 8, 2019, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service will follow visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Saturday, March 9th at 10:30AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made by clicking the green tab in the left column.
