Obituary for Sarah L. Stellfox
Sarah L. Stellfox, age 86, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She resided at Summit Acres Nursing Home for the past four years. She was born August 20, 1923, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Thomas Ewing and Minnie May Morrison Hazard. She was a 1943 graduate of Caldwell High School. She was a homemaker and worked at the former Stellfox Restaurant, which was located in the building that currently houses Archers Flower Shop on the square in Caldwell. Mrs. Stellfox also worked during World War II at the rationing office in Noble County and she was also a library aide for Caldwell Middle School for 11 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Caldwell, and she enjoyed literature and eating out. She especially loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret McDonald and Gertrude Hagerman; and five brothers, Joseph Hazard, Hugh Hazard, Harry Hazard, Charles Hazard, and Halbert Hazard.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, David Blaton Stellfox, Jr., whom she married December 16, 1945; children, David Blaton (Linda) Stellfox, III, of Prospect, Pennsylvania, Daniel R. (Sue) Stellfox of Powell, Kathryn A. (Norman) Nelson of Akron, and Deborah Sue Stellfox of Caldwell; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, April 29th, 2010, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday at 11AM with Pastor Mike Willmer officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund at Summit Acres Nursing Home, 44565 Sunset Road, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
