Obituary for Sara Mae Caldwell
Sara Mae Caldwell, age 79, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at The Inn at Marietta. She was born October 19, 1930, in Mt. Ephraim, Ohio, daughter of the late Homer and Senora Davis Finley. She was a 1948 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and she was employed for a short time at Archer?s Flowers and Gifts in Caldwell. She was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, and Guernsey Chapter #211, Order of the Eastern Star. She was active for many years as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts, and she was active with the Red Hatters at the Inn at Marietta. She enjoyed being on her CB and she had the handle ?Little Comet.? In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dana W. Caldwell, whom she married April 4, 1953, and who died December 2, 1996; four sisters, Pauline Rich, Roslyn Houshower, Katherine Robinson, and Irene Edgar; one brother, Dalton Finley; and two sisters and one brother who died in childhood. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Nau of Valparaiso, Indiana; one son, Jon Caldwell (Racheal Spears) of Junction City; six grandchildren, Adam, Katy, and Elly Nau and Wesley, Aaron, and Allison Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Vivian Garling of Columbus; a special cousin, Mary Lois Hill of Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, March 12, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, March 13th at 1PM. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
