Obituary for Ruth Hannahs
Ruth Hannahs, age 87, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born March 3, 1929, in Zanesville, daughter of the late John Herrick and Ardith Marie Danford Mendenhall. She was a 1947 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and she retired from the State Library of Ohio in Caldwell on April 1, 1990. She was a member of the Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed going to auctions. She loved her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant twin sister, Mildred Louise Mendenhall; and one brother-in-law, Glen “Tink” Bates.
Surviving are her husband, Austin Hannahs, whom she married March 31, 1950; her children, Jeff (Lorna) Hannahs of Sarahsville, Judy Tyson (Tom Reed) of Zanesville, June (Mike) Klingensmith of Cambridge, and Jill (Kirby) Foley of Pleasant City; one sister, Wilma Bates of Sarahsville; one brother, John (Wilma Ellen) Mendenhall of Sarahsville; seven grandchildren, Jesse (Michelle) Hannahs, Tera Pryor, Chad Tyson, Derek Tyson (Mackenzie Newson), Alan Klingensmith, Kevin “Bunker” (Heather) Davis, and Dustin Davis; six great-grandchildren, Avery Hannahs, Alethea Hannahs, Camdyn Tyson, Kirsten Davis, Kayla (Chance) Pent, and Kiera Davis; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, December 29th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery.
