Obituary for Ruth Enid Hendershot
Ruth Enid Hendershot, age 86, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born November 17, 1930, at Three Forks in Noble County, daughter of the late Irvil Floyd and Edna M. Woodford Garvin. She was a beloved mother and homemaker, and she was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. Ruth enjoyed painting and watching sports, especially NASCAR, and she loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry Ray Hendershot, whom she married March 13, 1948, and who died January 14, 2005; one daughter, Carol Ann Saling; one sister, Gladys Windland; and two brothers, George and Dale Garvin.
Surviving are her children, Linda Williams of Burlington, North Carolina, Kenny (Becky) Hendershot of Caldwell, and Jay (Mary) Hendershot of Sarahsville; her siblings, Ronnie Garvin (Sue Langley) of Caldwell, Doris (Roger) Wagner of Beverly, Darwin Garvin of Caldwell, and Marion (Deanna) Garvin of Caldwell; one son-in-law, Rick (Dee Dee) Saling of Caldwell; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 2-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, October 6th at 11AM with Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery.
