Ruth A. Hohman, age 90, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. She was born September 28, 1930, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Hubert and Grace Davis Hill. Ruth was a cook and dishwasher for the former Gunnel’s Restaurant in Caldwell, and she was employed at one time by the former Weather Seal Plant. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda. She enjoyed reading old time books, reading the newsletter from her church, and she loved her cats. Ruth loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Sebastian Hohman, whom she married September 2, 1950, and who died June 8, 2006; one grandson, Quentin Ramsey; three sisters, Jean Romnosky, and infant twin sisters Carolyn and Marilyn Hill; and two brothers, Robert Hill and Richard Hill.
Surviving are her children, Marsha A. (Don) Harold of Scott Depot, West Virginia, and Carolyn S. Teters, Sandy K. Ramsey, and Rebecca J. Hayes, all of Caldwell; her siblings, Larry Hill of Caldwell, Kenny Hill of Zanesville, and Edward Hill of Chicago; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one to be born in January, 2021.
To ensure everyone’s safety during the pandemic, the funeral service will be private, but friends may view the service as it is livestreamed on the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home Facebook page Monday, November 23, 2020, at 1PM. Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris will be officiating and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS Inc. Humane Society of Noble County at www.noblepawsinc.com, or to Absolute Hospice Foundation, 39 Summit Court, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
