Obituary for Russell L. Wells
Russell L. Wells, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at his home. He was born February 7, 1928, in Noble County, son of the late Ernest and Ruth Naomi Combs Wells. He was a graduate of Dexter City High School, and he was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from United Engineering in Canton, and he was a member of the Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Marion Earl Wells, Delmer Wells, and Paul Wells.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie June Gordon Wells, whom he married June 18, 1953; one son, Russell David Wells of Caldwell; one brother, Robert G. Wells of Dexter City; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Wells of Chesterhill and Ruth Wells of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 6PM-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a masonic service will be observed at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed Thursday, January 7th at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Dudley Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
