Obituary for Rosetta A. Schell

Rosetta A. Schell, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 26, 1936, in Caldwell, daughter of the late John and O’Tillie Nau Hupp. She was a 1954 graduate of Caldwell High School, and following graduation, went to work for Patten’s Appliance Store. She retired from the Noble County Board of Elections following 30 years of service and 20 years of serving as its director. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathlic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women’s Club. Rose enjoyed walking, quilting, reading, cooking, and playing cards. She dedicated her life to her family and made every holiday an event for her children and grandchildren. Every Friday night was enjoyed with pizza and cards and every Sunday was a feast. Family vacations were an annual event and those beach memories will last forever.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters, Louella Crum, Mary Hill, Thelma Johnson, and Leoba Archer; and three brothers, Albert, Edward, and Howard Hupp.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald P. Schell, whom she married May 4, 1957; her children, Christina (Chuck) Haas, Brenda (Steve) Schott, and Robert (Marcia) Schell, all of Caldwell, and Scott (Jody) Schell of Reynoldsburg; 9 grandchildren, Mya Rose, Charlee, Kylie, Trae, Casey, Austin, Emily, Molly, and Lexy; 2 great-grandchildren, Delyn and Rosy; her siblings, Arthur (Grace) Hupp of Caldwell, Norbert “Bill” (Janice) Hupp of Caldwell and Agatha Schafer of Senecaville; 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Hupp of Caldwell and Alice Hupp of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Monday, July 8, 2019, from 4-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will follow visitation at 7PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Tuesday, July 9th at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris and Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin as celebrants.
