Rodney T. Russell, age 66, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Summa Western Reserve in Cuyahoga Falls. He was born October 31, 1946, in Ravenna, son of the late Carl C. and Dorothy M. Miller Russell. He was a 1964 graduate of Ravenna High School, and he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in international business from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Mr. Russell spoke four languages, and he was a United States Air Force veteran, having served as a Russian linguist. He had a cameo in the movie “Air Force One”, for which he acted as a Russian guard. He also worked as an international liason in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Russell was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, a member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721, and the Caldwell Moose Lodge #221. He enjoyed reading and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin sister, Rebecca Ann Patonai, who died March 22, 2009. Surviving are his niece and caregiver, Kim Latona of Cuyahoga Falls; three nephews, Tim Orolin of Stow, Mark (Renee) Orolin of Green, and Jim (Melissa) Patonai of Wadsworth; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 10-11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 11AM with Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Military honors will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
