Robert W. “Bob” Boney, age 94, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at his home. He was born October 9, 1929, in Sharon Twp., Noble County, son of the late James Irvin and Emma Linton Boney. Bob was a 1947 graduate of Forest Grove High School and was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired as a field representative from American Electric Power and was employed by Long’s Tractor Sales in Caldwell. He was a 65-year member of the Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. Bob enjoyed raising beef cattle, woodworking in his shop, and growing a large garden. He loved to share produce from his garden with neighbors and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Morland Boney, whom he married December 17, 1955, and who died November 27, 2011; one daughter, Rosemary S. Vaughn; four sisters, Mary Tilton, Evelyn DeLancey, Nellie Nichols, and Betty Joan Van Fossen; and one brother, John Boney.
Surviving are his children, Donnie L. Boney and Ronnie D. Boney, both of Caldwell, Rita J. (Steven) Kirk of Worthington, and Robert W. (Joyce) Boney of Albuquerque, New Mexico; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be observed Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11AM at Sharon Cemetery with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. A veteran’s service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations and a Masonic service will be conducted by Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
