Obituary for Robert S. Bettinger
Robert S. Bettinger, age 72, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his home. He was born November 15, 1944, son of the late Ray S. and Lela Nora McFadden Bettinger. He was a 1962 graduate of Dexter City High School, and he was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Bettinger was employed by the former Dana Corporation plant in Caldwell for 37 years. He loved to play cards, especially poker and euchre.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Bettinger and Frank Bettinger.
Surviving are his wife, Linda A. Prunty Bettinger, whom he married October 14, 1998; one son, John R. (Tonya) Bettinger of Caldwell; three step-children, Lynn K. Roberts of Caldwell, William (Shannon) Roberts of Canton, and Rachel (Scott) Sigmon of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his siblings, William E. Bettinger of Illinois, Michael L. Bettinger of Caldwell, and Michelle L. Bettinger of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, April 3rd at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
