Obituary for Robert L. Snyder, Jr.
Robert L. Snyder, Jr., age 66, of Zanesville, Ohio, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at his home. He was born September 6, 1949, in Newark, son of the late Robert Leland Snyder, Sr., and Pauline June Drumm Snyder. He was a 1967 graduate of Zanesville High School, and he was a United States Navy veteran, having served aboard the U.S.S. Independence during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Burnham Foundry in Zanesville, and he was a member of GMP Union Local #292. He was also a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ. Bob enjoyed history, and he formerly participated as a civil war reenactor.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Lynn Ramsey Snyder, whom he married August 4, 1973, and who died January 17, 1992; two brothers, Richard Snyder and Mark Snyder; and a half-brother, David Dunn.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer L. (Michael) Kellogg of Rome, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lucas, age 5, and Parker, age 2; his mother-in-law, V. Jean Ramsey of Caldwell; his sister-in-law, Brenda (Paul) Halberstadt of Zanesville; his brother-in-law, Jerry “Jake” (Brenda) Ramsey of Summerfield; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Mackenzie.
Friends may call Thursday, July 7, 2016, from 5PM-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, July 8th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Sharon Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
