Obituary for Robert L. Moore
Robert L. Moore, age 81, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born August 16, 1935, in Noble County, son of the late Clarence O. and Opal Bates Moore. He was a 1953 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and he was employed by Worl Thompson Motors in Caldwell, then as an insurance adjuster for Grange Mutual Insurance before returning to Worl Thompson Motors. He was a member of the Bates Hill Church of Christ, where he served as an elder, song leader, and teacher. Bob also served as a Republican Central Committeeman for Noble County. He loved to golf and was a member of the Mt. Ephraim Golf Club, and in his younger years, he was an avid fox hunter who was known affectionately as “Foxy.” He was a beloved man who was devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Moore; one sister-in-law, Anita Moore; one son-in-law, David T. Korte; and one nephew, Michael Moore.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Gibson Moore, whom he married August 1, 1953; three daughters, Vickie L. (Tony) Modock of Byesville, Deborah S. Korte and Lori A. Graves, both of Sarahsville; one sister, Linda (William) Franklin of Sarahsville; two brothers, Darrell E. Moore and Ronald D. (Donna) Moore, both of Caldwell; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, January 13, 2017, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, and Saturday, January 14th from 10-11AM at Bates Hill Church of Christ, 20988 Zep Rd. East, Sarahsville, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 11AM with Evangelist Harry Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery.
