Obituary for Robert L. McKee
Robert L. McKee, age 83, of Troy, Ohio, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. He was born April 23, 1925, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Sheldon and Ethel Harmon McKee. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, having served as an aerial gunner in the Pacific Theatre. He retired as a chief master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, and he served in the Maryland Air National Guard. He enjoyed trains, building model airplanes, fishing, hunting, and duck pin bowling. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one step-son, Leslie Harmon, who died July 3, 2008. Surviving are his wife, Frela I. Elliott Harmon McKee, whom he married November 9, 1990; two step-daughters, Patty (Ed) Hatem of Troy and Donna Jurden of Columbus; a step-daughter-in-law, Nan Harmon of Columbus; his mother-in-law, Pearl Elliott of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from 6-8PM and Thursday, January 8th from 12PM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 2PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
