Obituary for Robert H. Lori
Robert H. Lori, age 82, of Belle Valley, Ohio, died Monday, January 19, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born December 29, 1926, in Noble County, Ohio, son of the late Lewis and Anna Lorey Lori. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran, having served in the Philippines, and he was retired as a rail layer from the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley, and a member of the Belle Valley Post # 641 American Legion, where he formerly served as sergeant-at-arms and district sergeant-at-arms. He was also a life member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Ward Lori; his second wife, Mildred Hesson Lori; one son, Robert J. Lori; three sisters, Pearl Wheeler, Annabelle Clark, and Marie Gornel; two brothers, Earl and Jim Lori; and one great-granddaughter. Surviving are three daughters, Jean (Pete) Smith of Belle Valley, Heleanna (Cliff) Smith of Gainesville, Florida, and Marguerite Boney of Summerfield; one brother, Paul Edward (Reva) Lori of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, January 23, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell where a Christian Scripture Service will follow at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Saturday, January 24th at 10AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. A military graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organization.
