Robert David Lee “Bob” Nair, age 89, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home. He was born September 17, 1934, in Oakland, Maryland, son of the late Thomas C. and Edith R. Uphold Nair. Bob was employed as a master mechanic for McDonald Construction in Lakeland, Florida, worked as a private investigator, and was employed as a truck driver hauling orange juice in Florida. He also worked security for the Boston Red Sox summer training camp. He retired as a dozer operator for Buckeye Excavating after many years of service. He also worked with Wendall Warner for several years. Bob attended Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley. He enjoyed working on his farm, bushhogging and clearing his land, and he always helped people with odd jobs. He enjoyed sharpshooting, boxing, and once held a three-year title in wrestling. He loved children and taking his own grandchildren on tractor and bulldozer rides. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Lynelle. He was the last surviving sibling of 13 children.
Surviving are his wife of over 42 years, Bonnie L. Drake Nair, whom he married December 22, 1981; his children, Delaney Marie Janiece (Eddie) Veyon of Pleasant City, Mary Savage of Confluence, Pennsylvania, Mark Nair of Akron, Dean Nair of Lakeland, Florida, and Tommy Nair of Kentucky; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. A graveside service will follow at 1:30PM at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery with Ken Perkins officiating.
