Obituary for Robert A. Stanbery
Robert A. Stanbery, age 63, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 13, 1952, in Caldwell, son of the late Charles Edgar and Betty June Clark Stanbery. He was a 1970 graduate of Caldwell High School, and was employed as a driver for Caldwell Redi-Mix, and he was also employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation and the former Gould plant in Caldwell. He was a former member of the Caldwell Fraternal Order of Eagles #2952, and an associate member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721, and a member of the Belle Valley Sons of the American Legion. Mr. Stanbery was Methodist by faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping, and he was a dedicated coon hunter. He also enjoyed demolition derbies and NASCAR, and he was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Janice Rayner; two brothers, Charles Edgar Stanbery and Harvey Eugene Stanbery.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie (Todd) Watson and Elizabeth Ann (Dale) Guiler, both of Caldwell; two sisters, Nancy (Morgan) Stover of Hamilton and Sandra (James) Rayner of Caldwell; one brother-in-law, Bill Rayner of Caldwell; 6 grandchildren, Sadie Watson, Cecelia Watson, Scarlett Watson, Austin Guiler, Jaxson Guiler, and Liam Guiler; and special nieces and nephews, Sarah Stanbery Lanning, Molly Stanbery Lowry, Fonda Garvin Mettler, Marsha Stover McQueen, Jimmy Rayner, Jason Rayner, and several other nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 4PM-8PM and Monday, June 13th from 10AM-11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. The funeral service will follow visitation Monday at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.
