Obituary for Richard C. Teeters
Richard C. Teeters, age 93, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born March 16, 1921, in Fredericksdale, son of the late Harley and Bertie Wentworth Teeters. He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran having served during World War II, and he retired as a machinist from the former Imperial Clevite Corporation in Caldwell in 1983. He was in the race horse business for many years, travelling to county fairs all over Ohio, as well as racing at the Meadowlands near Washington, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, the United States Trotting Association, the Harness Horsemen Association, and he was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Mae Teeters, whom he married March 11, 1946, and who died May 21, 1991; one daughter, Carolyn Ross, who died April 28, 2003; three sisters, Clara Crock, Vera Milligan, and Blanche Gibson; and three brothers, Ralph Teeters, Harley Teeters, Jr., and Fred Teeters.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra “Sandy” L. Teeters of McConnellsville; one son, Lester “Bud” H. (Denise) Teeters of Canton; a special friend, Louise Carrel of Caldwell, and her daughters; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, August 18, 2014, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. The funeral service will be observed Tuesday, August 19th at 1PM at the Main Street Church of Christ, 631 Main Street, Caldwell, with Aaron Seiler officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organizations.
