Obituary for Rebecca S. "Becky" Mazgay
Rebecca S. “Becky” Mazgay, age 69, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, September 15, 2019, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus following a brief illness. She was born August 29, 1950, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Donald V. “Duke” and Thelma Elizabeth Hupp Johnson. She was a 1968 graduate of Caldwell High School. Becky was employed in the office of the former Dana Corporation plant in Caldwell and she was also the former manager for SE Ohio Credit Union in Caldwell. She enjoyed traveling, she loved her grandchildren, and she was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Tamela Lynn “Tammy” Ross, who died in March 2014; and one brother, Thomas “Jew” Johnson, who died in July, 2007.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Leo Daniel “Dan” Mazgay; one daughter, Stacey L. (Bryan) Smith of Purcellville, Virginia; two grandchildren, Madison M. R. Smith and Cameron E. B. Smith, both of Purcellville, Virginia; one brother, Donald Jeffrey “Jeff” (Roseann) Johnson of Carlisle; a brother-in-law, Steve Ross of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, September 20, 2019, from 12PM-3PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a memorial service will follow visitation at 3PM with Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to OSU Wexner Medical Center at www.wexnermedical.osu.edu.
