Obituary for Ralph W. Steed
Ralph W. Steed age 72, of Belle Valley died Saturday afternoon November 22, 2003 at his home. He was born October 27, 1931 in Hiramsburg, a son of the late Floyd William and Dorothy Evelyn Kohut Steed. He retired from the Dana Corporation in Caldwell, was a Korean War Vetern serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church, the Dana golf league, the SteelWorkers Local 4836, the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641, the former Caldwell Lodge #459 F & AM, and was an avid golfer and bowler. He was preceded in death by his wife Myra Lee Caston Steed on November 13, 1975, and 1 brother; Floyd Steed Jr. at infancy. He is survived by 2 sons; Ricky W. Steed of Sharon and Gregory (Liz) Steed of Sarahsville, 4 daughters; Shari (Bill) Reed of Belle Valley, Debbie Steed of Belle Valley, Lorrie (Terry) Reiter of Caldwell, and Brenda (Keith) Davis of Caldwell, 1 sister; Florence (Pat) Bartoletta of Kennonsburg, 3 brothers; James (Dolares) Steed of Sarahsville, Charles (Patty) Steed of North Carolina, and Floyd (Audrey) Steed of Belle Valley, 10 grandchildren. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1pm with Rev. Travis Christman officiating. Interment will be in Hoskinsville Cemetery with Military graveside services conducted by the Caldwell VFW Post #4721 and the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Guernsey.
