Obituary for Ralph Richard Cobb
Ralph Richard Cobb, age 73, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville, Ohio. He was born January 9, 1935, in Coal Run, Ohio, son of the late Bud and Mae Gates Cobb. He retired after 28 years of service with Fabri-Form in Byesville due to illness. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, playing cards, and collecting coins and glass. Because of his declining health, he was unable to continue his many hobbies, but he never lost his sense of humor or the ability to make people laugh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Lee Cobb, who died in 1958; and one brother, Earl Cobb. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mabel Irene Roberts Cobb, whom he married July 14, 1956; five sons, Ralph Junior (Nancy) Cobb of Caldwell, Ronald E. (Darlene) Cobb of Senecaville, Dwayne A. (Melissa) Cobb of Summerfield, Chris D. (Trinda) Cobb of Belle Valley, and Frank D. (Tammy) Fisk of Caldwell; a very special 'adopted' daughter and caregiver, Sharon Pakes of Caldwell; four brothers, Walter (Shirley) Cobb and Ivan Cobb, both of Belle Valley, Dean (Sue) Cobb of Cambridge, and Virgil (Irene) Cobb of Columbus; 14 grandchildren, Ralph (Kimberly) Cobb, SueAnn (Dustin) Hooks, Stephanie Cobb, Matthew Cobb, Corie King, Dillon King, Kaci Cobb, Douglas and Garrett Cobb, Jessica, Daniel, Marli, and Chris Cobb, and Stephen Hannum; 4 great-grandchildren, Austin and Kendal Cobb, Easton Hooks, and Tylee Cobb; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Saturday, June 28, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Sunday, June 29th at 2PM with Dr. Robert E.
