Obituary for Pierce Bailey, Jr.
Pierce Bailey, Jr., age 77, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, December 25, 2021, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born December 1, 1944, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, son of the late Pierce and Daisy Little Bailey, Sr. Pierce was a 1961 graduate of West Technical High School in Cleveland. He retired from General Motors Chevrolet in Parma, and he was a deputy sheriff for Cuyahoga County. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley, and was a member of the Harding-Concordia Lodge #345, Brecksville, the Caldwell Moose Lodge #221, and he was a past member of the Al Koran Shrine, Motorcycle Unit. Pierce enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Cleveland Browns football and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his second wife, Debbie Bailey; two sisters, Marie Hall and Glenna Watson; and three brothers, Bill, Charlie, and Henry Hall.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann M. Turner Bailey, whom he married October 25, 2007; his children, Diane Merrill, David (Brittney) Bailey, Tim (Cassie) Robinson, Tony (Kathy) Carpenter, T.C. Carpenter, and Bobby Carpenter; 14 grandchildren, Jessica Merrill, Ashley (Adam) Howell, Connor Bailey, Lauren Bailey, T.J. Kerr, Amanda Kerr, Cory Nichols, Tommy Carpenter, Jason (Megan) Carpenter, Amber (Johnathan) Neff, Aaron Carpenter, Johnathan Carpenter, Ethan Carpenter, and Tara Carpenter; one brother, Frankie (Joyce) Bailey; his first wife, Kathrine Szymczyk; and special friends Jim and Christine O’Brien.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4-8PM at Faith Baptist Church, 200 Grove Road, Belle Valley, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday at 1PM with Pastor Stephen Hannum officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family. Guests are asked to follow recommended safety precautions against Covid at all gatherings.
