Obituary for Phillip E. Holstein
Phillip E. Holstein, age 64, of Cumberland, Ohio, has gone home to be with his Lord at 6AM Friday, April 11, 2014, at his home. He was born December 17, 1949, in Cambridge, son of Wendy “Wanda” Poland Holstein of Cumberland and the late Edward A. Holstein. He was a 1968 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and he retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18 of Akron. He was a Christian by faith, and attended the Kennonsburg Bible Church. He was a member of Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM, the Sons of the American Legion, Belle Valley Post #641, and the Cambridge Eagles. Phil enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his beloved family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathye K. Kohut Holstein, whom he married December 28, 1967; two daughters, Paula Lynn (Todd) Carpenter of Pleasant City and Trixy Coleen (Charles) Carpenter of Byesville; one son, Phillip E. Holstein, II, of Dublin; three sisters, W. Gail Thomas of Belle Valley, Jill (Tom) Repasky of Cambridge, and Jan (Beeg) Stevens of Byesville; three grandchildren, Kelsey Carpenter of Pleasant City and Xyler Carpenter and Chance Carpenter, both of Byesville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Masonic service will be observed at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed at the funeral home Wednesday, April 16th at 1PM with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens in Cambridge.
