Obituary for Perry Lee Matjunas
Perry L. Matjunas, age 59, of Lewisville, Ohio, returned to God on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center in Zanesville. He was born August 17, 1952, in Akron, son of the late Donald and Mildred Shroyer Matjunas. He was a 1971 graduate of Stow High School. Perry worked as a carpet installer for many years. He enjoyed driving a school bus for Noble Local Schools, and he recently worked in the timber business. He was a true and loyal friend and brother who would have done anything for anyone. Perry’s strength, both mental and physical, knew no bounds and he gave his all. His passions in life were his daughter, gardening, outdoor cooking, fishing, and hard work. He loved his family, which include his wife, Gayle F. Rossi Matjunas, whom he married on February 23, 1974; one daughter, Melissa M. Matjunas of San Luis Obispo, California; one sister, Wyoma Grable of Cleveland; one brother-in-law, Rob (Laurie) Rossi of San Luis Obispo, California; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and dear friends. We thank God that his suffering was short and swift. He is now in the arms of God and has been reunited with his loving parents. Perry would want to be remembered as a man who really cared about others, and he would want to thank everyone who was a part of his life. Friends may call Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 8PM. Inurnment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna at the convenience of the family.
