Pauline P. Woomer, age 100, of Bartlett, Ohio, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Rockland Ridge in Belpre, Ohio. She was born November 2, 1924, in Caldwell, daughter of the late George Washington and Evelyn Poling Anderson. During World War II, Pauline worked in Akron building airplane wings. She was a beloved mother and homemaker who owned and operated a farm along with her husband, Russell. She attended Barry’s Ridge Baptist Church near Caldwell as she was growing up. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, and in her later years she enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Jackson Woomer, whom she married September 2, 1944, and who died October 24, 1994; seven sisters, Bonnie Miller, Geneva Wittenbrook, Vivian Labarre, Winona McCune, Cuba Davis, Ruth Bond, and Alice “Babe” Hicks; and four brothers, Leonard, John, Homer, and Lloyd Anderson.
Surviving are her children, Russell J. Woomer, Jr. of Fleming, Sharon Woomer and Karen Woomer, both of Macksburg, Virginia (Eugene) Pahl of Layman, and Carolyn (Marcus) Powell of Bartlett; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Gildow of Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be observed by the family. Burial will follow at Barry’s Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
