Obituary for Pauline Margaret Schott Schafer
Pauline Margaret Schott Schafer, age 99, of Caldwell, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at her home. She was born September 8, 1916, in Harriettsville, daughter of the late Henry and Laura Zwick Schott. She graduated from St. Ursula High School, and she retired from March Electric in Cambridge. Pauline was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell and its Worthwhile Sunday School Class, and a member of the Young at Heart Club, the Narcissus Club, and the March Electric Retirees Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence H. Schafer, who died in 1989; one son, William Henry Schafer, who was born and died in 1937; three brothers, Paul Schott, Robert Schott, and Henry Schott; and three sisters, Betty Oertle, Delores Archer, and Beulah Cardarelli.
She is survived by three sons, David (Darlene) Schafer of Zanesville, Kenneth (Linda) Schafer of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, and Duane (the late Beth) Schafer of Caldwell; two daughters, Sheila (Robert) DeVolld of Soldotna, Alaska and Diane Schafer of Mineral City; two sisters, Mildred Ackley of Caldwell and Marilyn (Dr. Timothy) Fleming of Seattle, Washington; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, May 27th at 3PM with Pastor Jim Garrett and Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of Christ, 601 North Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
