Obituary for Paul E. Schneeberger
Paul E. Schneeberger, age 74, of Dexter City, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born June 14, 1943, in Caldwell, son of the late Clarence and Edna Addlesburger Schneeberger. He was a 1961 graduate of Dexter City High School, and he attended linotype school in Logan. Paul began his career with the Beverly Dispatch, which was later purchased by the Marietta Times. He retired from the Marietta Times as a press operator in 2001 following 35 years of service. He was a member of the Marietta Baptist Temple. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and raising chickens. Paul was known for never meeting a stranger and he enjoyed striking up a conversation with anyone he met. He always had a hug reserved for each person.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Boyd; and two brothers, George F. “Fred” Schneeberger and infant David Schneeberger.
Surviving are his wife, N. Arlene Morris Schneeberger, whom he married August 21, 1965; his children, Sid (Susan) Schneeberger of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, Anna (Rick) Pauley of Staunton, Virginia, and Jetta Hesson of Byesville; 8 grandchildren, Samantha Hottinger of Mexico, Richie (Channa) Long of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, Jeff Overly of Byesville, Kaitlyn (Kenny) Weber and Bethany Hesson, all of Dexter City, Barry Cannon of Caldwell, and Josie and Boone Schneeberger, both of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; 3 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Hunter, and Tenleigh; one sister, Irene Boney of Caldwell; one brother, Raymond (June) Schneeberger of Sarahsville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, January 5, 2018, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, January 6th at 1PM with Pastor Don Teubert officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Community Savings Bank, 425 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724, to benefit Arlene.
