Obituary for Paul Douglas Smith
Paul Douglas Smith, age 56, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at his home. He was born May 3, 1957, in Cambridge, son of Donald D. (Bethel) Smith of Caldwell and the late Mamie Marie Humphrey Smith, who died in 1975. He was a 1975 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and he worked in supply and service in oil fields for many years. He retired as a painter from Grief Brothers of Caldwell, and he supervised FEMA cleanup following the flood of 1998. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and hunting morel mushrooms.
In addition to his father and step-mother, he is survived by one daughter, Summer Michelle (Guadalupe) Montanez of Blacklick; his siblings, Patricia (Charles) Steed of Coal Ridge, Terry (Sharon Kay) Smith of Bethesda, Donna Kress of Fulda, and Ronnie (Ruth) Smith of Caldwell; one granddaughter, Mia Ramona Montanez; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, April 7, 2014, from 10AM to 1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville.
