Obituary for Patty Ann Stewart
Patty Ann Stewart, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born July 8, 1928, daughter of the late Carl 'Whitey' and Matilda King Frederickson. She was the oldest of seven children. She was a 1947 graduate of Caldwell High School, and following several years of work, including employment at Krogers, she married Myron Dale Stewart on March 28, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Caldwell. In recent years, she had been a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, and she appreciated its ministry to her as her health declined. Patty is remembered by those who knew and loved her as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who had a special empathy for the young and elderly. Her sons and daughters-in-law were blessed by her many kindnesses, and her grandsons will never forget their fun-loving 'Grandma Patty', who made every holiday and birthday special. Patty took the children she babysat under her nurturing wing, and for several years took care of her aging aunt, Mary Radcliff. Patty also relished time she spent with her mother, sisters, and nieces: baking, canning, shopping, and visiting Amish Country. Everyone who knew Patty can recall warm summer days on her front or back porch, 'chewing the fat', as she used to say, because she loved nothing better than good company and good conversation. In addition to her parents and husband, who died in 1993, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Ann Stewart, in 1954; one brother, Jack Frederickson, in 2011; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Stewart, in 2008. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Steven (Rebecca) Stewart, David Stewart, and Kurt (Kirsten) Stewart; her grandsons, Zachary (Kateri) Stewart, Jonathan Stewart, Jared Stewart, Heath Stewart, and Mitchell Stewart; four sisters, Jean (Phil) Christianson, Jane Baines, Joyce (Don) Mandel, and Mary Sue (Dean) Banks; one brother, Joe (Nellie) Frederickson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends may call Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, December 30th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating.
