Patricia L. “Patty” West, age 85, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born June 9, 1938, in Caldwell, daughter of the late William David and Ruth Jane Montgomery Buckley. Patty was a 1956 graduate of Belle Valley High School and was a beloved mother and homemaker. She was a member of the former Center Free Methodist Church and attended the Ava Free Methodist Church. She served as a 4-H advisor and loved cooking and sewing. Patty was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin A. West, whom she married June 20, 1959, and who died April 24, 2023; one brother, Rodney Buckley; and one sister, Ruth Ann Shondrick.
Surviving are her children, Deborah J. Hesson of Pleasant City, Bonnie L. (Kevin) Warne of Cambridge, Timothy M. (Karen) West of Pleasant City, and Donald E. “Jake” (Heather) West of Pleasant City; 6 grandchildren, Meagan Guth of Naples, Florida, Jonathan “J.D” (Alexis) Hesson of Cumberland, Taylor West of Pleasant City, Bain Allen West of Pleasant City, Katarina West of Pleasant City, and Dalton West of Pleasant City; a sister-in-law, Annabelle West of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, September 1, 2023, from 10AM-12PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 12PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
