Oscar J. Estep, age 93, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at his home. He was born May 18, 1931, in Pleasantville, son of the late Dewey A. and Tennie Collier Estep. Oscar owned and operated Estep Trucking and Estep Timber for many years and he was a member of the former Center Free Methodist Church in Sarahsville. He enjoyed farming, raising sheep, fishing, gardening, and playing cards. His family was the important thing in his life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rita T. Kirkbride Estep, whom he married December 29, 1952, and who died March 16, 2021; three sisters, Florence Milan, Belle Jefferies, and Pauline York; and two brothers, Dewey Estep, Jr. and Lonzo Estep; and one grandson, Tony Steed
Surviving are his children, Teresa Kisor of Coolville, and Judy Estep (Greg Ludwig), Susan Moag, and Steven Estep, all of Pleasant City; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lena Deboard and Vernice Moore, both of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville at a later time. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
