Norman Stephen Wilder, age 73, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Friday, December 29, 2017, at his home. He was born February 3, 1944, in North Adams, Massachusetts, son of the late Richard and Mildred Wilder, Sr. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was employed as a roofer in New York and Vermont, and he was also employed by ChemFab in North Bennington, Vermont. He was Protestant by faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Wilder, whom he married July 30, 1993, and who died May 13, 2017; two sisters, Carol Wilder and Betty Jean Wilder Tower; and one brother, Richard Wilder, Jr.
Surviving are his children, Robert Wilder of Crossville, Tennessee, April Wilder McGreggor of Tucker, Georgia, and Daniel Wilder of Orlando, Florida; his step-children, Jeffrey Paul (Laurey) O’Dell of Hoosick Falls, New York, Bruce Lee O’Dell, James Edward O’Dell, Scott Allen O’Dell, and Tanya Sue (Paul) Santway, all of Bennington, Vermont; Robin Marie Jones of Caldwell, Ohio, and Heidi Jean Miller of Redding, Connecticut; one sister, Roxanne Wilder-Farrar of Rutland, Vermont; two grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 2, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, January 3rd at 11AM with Pastor David Cater officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Barry’s Ridge Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
