Obituary for Norma J. Arnold
Norma J. Arnold, age 80, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at her home. She was born August 29, 1940, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Edwin and Edna Warner Snider. Norma was a 1958 graduate of Caldwell High School. She retired from GTE, where she worked in the customer service department for many years. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and a member of Noble County Performing Arts. She loved quilting, reading, and she was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Norma will be remembered for her wonderful laugh. She instilled in her family the importance of caring for one another.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Matthew F. Arnold; and one brother, Joe Snider.
Surviving are her husband, Francis C. Arnold, whom she married in April, 1961; her children, Alan E. Arnold of Wyoming, John J. Arnold of Caldwell, and Lorena R. (Jerry) Harrison of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Keith Showalter, Derek Arnold, Emily Harrison, Anna Strawsburg, Dustin Strawsburg, and Perry Harrison; one great-grandchild, Madison Harrison; her siblings, Tom (Linda) Snider of North Carolina, Joan (Roger) Willey of Caldwell, and Rita (Lloyd) Crum of Marietta; a sister-in-law, Linda Snider of Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be observed Monday, January 18, 2021, at 7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care, 27855 State Rt. 7, Marietta, Ohio, 45750. Guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at the funeral home as required by the state of Ohio.
