Obituary for Nellie J. Wells
Nellie J. Wells, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, February 25, 2016, at her home. She was born June 18, 1932, in Reinersville, daughter of the late Benjamin C. Gordon and Gayle K. King Gordon Blackburn. She was a homemaker, and along with her husband Russell operated the family farm. She was employed as a cook for the former Sandwich Shoppe in Caldwell, and she was a poll worker for the Noble County Board of Elections. Mrs. Wells was a member of the Noble County Red Hatters. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting, and she was an excellent cook and baker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Wells, whom she married June 18, 1953, and who died January 3, 2016; one sister, Jessie Mary Powers; and one brother, Willis Gordon.
Surviving are one son, Dave Wells of the home; one sister, Elevena Koch of Okachobee, Florida; one sister-in-law, Vi Gordon of Malvern; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 8PM with Chris Wells officiating.
