Obituary for Ned Yorke Pickenpaugh
Ned Y. Pickenpaugh, age 73, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 3, 1938, in Long Beach, California, son of the late John and Anna Brown Pickenpaugh. He was a 1956 graduate of Caldwell High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following military service, Mr. Pickenpaugh graduated from Muskingum Area Technical College with a degree in computer technology. He retired as an agent for the Western and Southern Life Insurance Company\'s Cambridge office. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of Olive Lodge #210 F&AM in Mt. Ephraim and the Marietta Commandry #50 Knights Templar. He enjoyed antique cars and he was a member of the Old Guernsey Valley Car Club.
Surviving are his wife Alice Faye Cross Pickenpaugh, whom he married February 14, 1981; two daughters, Debbie (Todd) Moss of South Carolina and Sheila (Brent) Kackley of Sarahsville; three sons, John (Pam) Pickenpaugh, Steve (Anislee) Pickenpaugh both of South Carolina and Terry Gerdau of Lore City; one brother, Vernon D. (Betty) Pickenpaugh of Tampa, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 11AM until 1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. Masonic Services will be observed Saturday at 1PM with the funeral service immediately following with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell with the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations presenting military honors.
