Obituary for Myron E. Merry
Myron E. Merry, age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his home. He was born January 26, 1925, in Caldwell, son of the late Edward and Kathryn Craig Merry. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School, and attended the University of Michigan before graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he received a degree in banking. Mr. Merry was a World War II U.S. Naval veteran, having served on the west coast of the United States. He was retired as president of Farmers and Merchants Bank, Caldwell, where he served as a Director Emeritus. He was a former trustee of Zane State College, Zanesville. He was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church and the Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. He was an avid sailor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Merry, who died October 19, 2004; and one daughter, Mikela Merry. Surviving are a son, William E. Merry, M.D. of Chicago; two daughters, Sigrid Merry of Caldwell and Lisa Merry of Senecaville; one sister, Evelyn Altenburg of Dublin, Ohio; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, April 5, 2007, from 9AM-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the family will be present from 7-9PM. A private inurement service will be held at the convenience of the family.
