Obituary for Michael A. Brienza
Michael A. Brienza, age 88, of Caldwell died Thursday morning June 24, 2004 at the Arlington Court Nursing Home, Columbus. He was born 2/11/1916 in Flushing, Ohio a son of the late Donato and Mary Leone Brienza. He was a local pilot who was instrumental in bringing aviation to Noble County. He was an Army Air Corp. Veteran in WWII serving as a B-24 pilot with the 8th Air Force with 35 missions over Germany. He was the former owner of Mike's Tire Shop, Caldwell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. He was a member of the former Noble Lodge #459 F&AM, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason Valley of Cambridge. He is survived by his wife Margaret Frew Brienza whom he married on 10/22/1949. 2 sons; Mark Brienza of Columbus, Richard Brienza of Caldwell, 2 daughters; Anne Brienza of Bellefontaine and Julie Brienza of Arlington, Va., 1 sister; Hannah (Paul) DeSio of Norwich, Connecticut, 2 grandsons; Nick and Mike Brienza of Columbus. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell on Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm where services will be held on Sunday at 2 pm with Rev. Ken Hyland officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by Caldwell Post #4721 VFW and Belle Valley American Legion Post # 641.
