Obituary for Melanie L. Wood
Melanie L. Wood, age 32, of Grove City, Ohio, died Monday, May 24, 2021, in Grove City. She was born April 23, 1989, in Cambridge, daughter of Ronald R. and Cynthia M. Vorhies Wood of Pleasant City. Melanie was a 2007 graduate of Shenandoah High School and a graduate of Zane State University, where she earned a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. She was serving a journeyman apprenticeship with Claypool Electric in Lancaster. Melanie enjoyed birds and cared for her pet doves. She also enjoyed gardening, caring for her plants, and horseback riding.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Diane S. Dozart Wood; an aunt, Patricia Dawn Vorhies; and an uncle, Timothy John Vorhies.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Brian; two sisters, Rebekah Sue Wood of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Andrea LeeAnn Wood of Pleasant City; her grandparents, Timothy L. and Carolyn Sue Anderson Vorhies of Pleasant City and Ronald D. and Joy Wood of Lower Salem; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be observed Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 1PM at Village View Cemetery in Sarahville. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
