Obituary for Matthew Ray Hart
Matthew Ray Hart, age 45, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. He was born March 15, 1966, in Barnesville, son of Sandra S. Jarrett Benn of Caldwell and Michael R. (Kathy) Hart of Bethesda. He was a 1984 graduate of Union Local High School, and he received an associate degree in individualized studies from Washington State Community College. He was a United States Army veteran of 12 years. Matt held a black belt in combat street boxing and was a phase one instructor in progressive fighting systems. Along with his wife, DeAnna Hart,he owned and operated The Training MAT, LLC, in Caldwell. He was also employed as a corrections officer at the Noble Correctional Institution for the past 14 years. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of Belle Valley Post #641 American Legion. He enjoyed weight lifting, physical training, mixed martial arts, healthy eating and living, and he enjoyed working on the restoration of the IOOF building on the square in Caldwell.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; one grandson, Corban Daniel Gurewicz; and one brother, Joseph Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnna Lynn Gurewicz Hart, whom he married June 22, 2002, hischildren, Justin Matthew (Abby) Hart of Ambrose, Georgia, Brett Thomas Hart of Barberton, Zebedee (Marcy) Gurewicz of Tiltonsville, Aubrey Matyas of Parma, and Dillon Warner and Dalton Warner, both of Caldwell; one brother, Brian (Lisa) Nelson of Maynard, one half-sister, Tiffany Hart-Gatten of St. Clairsville, two step-sisters, Jenn (Randy) Hart-Cook of St. Clairsville and Jill Hart-Horn of Bethesda; one step-brother, Jeff (Michelle) Hart of Morristown; maternal aunt, Brenda (Alan) Russell of Bethesda; paternal aunt, Susan Hart-Swackhammer of Belpre; 6 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be no visitation or funeral service observed at this time.
