Obituary for Mary Opal Shock
Mary Opal Shock, 95, of Syracuse, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Indiana University Hospital in Goshen, Indiana. She was born on September 16, 1917, in Utley, Ohio, daughter of the late George & Sarah Carpenter Clark. She was a homemaker and resided in Syracuse, Indiana for 27 years before coming from Ohio. She was a longtime member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church in Syracuse, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Shock, who died in March of 1968; and two brothers. Surviving are three daughters, Peggy Mount of Findlay, Sharon Butler of Syracuse, Indiana, and Jamie Erb of Syracuse, Indiana; two sons, Robert Shock of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Jack Shock of Ava; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 5-8PM at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 East 1000 North, Syracuse, Indiana, 46567, and Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 12-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
