Obituary for Mary M. Ritterbeck
Mary M. Ritterbeck, age 90, of Caldwell, died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Red Carpet Health Care Center in Cambridge. She was born February 2, 1920, in Burkhart, daughter of the late Joseph and Louisa Carpenter Burkhart. She was a homemaker, and she worked as a cook and a waitress at area restaurants and taverns. She was also employed by the former Noble County Green Thumb Program. Mrs. Ritterbeck was a member of the Caldwell VFW Auxiliary, and she enjoyed flower gardening and feeding birds, especially bluebirds and hummingbirds.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Ritterbeck, who died in 1963; one sister, Nona A. Schnelker; three brothers, Alban K., Malvan W., and Rapheal J. Burkhart; and one grandson, Martin E. Jennings.
Survivng are her children, Bernadine C. (Larry) Jennings of Caldwell, Marilyn L. Moore (Roger Bailey) of Zanesville, Francis W. "Fritz" Ritterbeck (Eva Miley) of Sharon, Urban Eugene "Gene" Ritterbeck (Nancy Dailey) of Stow, and Charles D. (Sherida) Ritterbeck of Caldwell; one sister, Rachel M. Calhoun of New Haven, Indiana; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her Red Carpet Health Care family and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 10AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
