Mary M. Khune, age 88, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Red Carpet Health Care Center in Cambridge. She was born April 8, 1922, near Ava in Noble County, daughter of the late John R. and Erma Badnell Buckey. She was employed as a housekeeper in private homes and for Tom Funeral Home in Cumberland. She was a member of Pleasant City United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed embroidering and cooking. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Madison Edward Khune, whom she married August 15, 1945, and who died June 8, 2007; an infant son; one sister, Evelyn Perkins; one brother, Charles Buckey; and one step-sister, Linda Nicholson.
Surviving are her children, Terry M. (Patti) Khune of Chandlersville, Larry E. (Marlene) Khune of Pleasant City, Mary Ann (Alan) Moore of Pleasant City, Ted (Patty) Khune of Cambridge, Nancy K. Clark (Daniel Costello) of Bradenton, Florida, and Dixie L. Khune of Pleasant City; a half-brother, Frank Buckey; two step-brothers, Bill Nicholson and Kenny Nicholson; three sisters-in-law, Jeannette Buckey, Sheba Drake, and Violet Rader; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, February 11, 2011, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, February 12th at 11AM with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Halley's Ridge Cemetery near Ava. Memorial contributions may be made to HOPE Shared Ministry, c/o 6740 Friendship Drive, New Concord, Ohio, 43762.
