Obituary for Mary L. Moore
Mary L. Moore, age 89, of Zanesville, Ohio, died Friday, October 1, 2010, at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville. She was born August 14, 1921, near Ava, daughter of the late Homer and Edna Vorhies Perkins. During World War II, she was employed by Essex Wire in Zanesville, and she was also employed as a nurses aide at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville. She was a member of the Ava United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed gardening and watching soap operas on television.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Matheney, Dorothy Fogle, and Helen Gibbs; and three brothers, Kenneth, George, and Haven Perkins.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Moore; one daughter, Star (Richard) Martin of Zanesville; two sons, Glenn C. (Phyllis) Moore and Tim (Dixie) Patterson, both of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Renee Wallace, Todd Patterson, Troy Patterson, and Shelly Totman; six great-grandchildren, Jett and Cade Wallace, Kendra, Collin and Tyler Patterson, and Brandon Totman; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, October 4, 2010, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, October 5th at 1PM with Pastor Jimmy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Halleys Ridge Cemetery near Ava.
