Obituary for Mary Juanita Yerian
Mary Juanita Yerian, age 96, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Friday, February 27, 2015, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born April 19, 1918, in Noble County, daughter of the late Emmett and Myrtle Woods Morris. She attended Forest Grove School, and she was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She attended Hiramsburg United Methodist Church, and she loved quilting and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Fred B. Yerian, whom she married September 3, 1938, and who died June 3, 1999; one son, Donald “Red” Yerian; one daughter-in-law, Linda Yerian; two sisters, Mabel Phelps and Annabelle Halpin; and four brothers, Thomas Morris, and infant brothers Charles, James, and Everett Morris.
Surviving are her children, James (Betty) Yerian of Cumberland and Chuck Yerian and Janet Yerian, both of the home; five grandchildren, Jimmy (Darlene) Yerian of Hebron, Brenda “Bea” (Jeff) Bates and Ron (Melinda) Yerian, both of Cumberland, and Greg Yerian and Lisa Yerian, both of Caldwell; nine great-grandchildren, Valene (Cass) Driver of Buckeye Lake, Vanessa (Aaron) Swaintek of Pataskala, Erica (Chris) Kenny of Lynchburg, Will Bates of Cambridge, Tiffany Yerian of Texas, Ashton Yerian and Olivia Yerian, both of Cumberland, and Levi Collins and Donald Collins, both of Caldwell; four great-great-grandchildren, Jameson Swaintek, Branson Swaintek, Cora Kenny, and Reid Driver; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, March 2nd at 11AM with Pastor Greg Thacker and Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Cemetery.
