Obituary for Mary E. "Judy" Hesson
Mary E. “Judy” Hesson, age 94, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Elba, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born June 23, 1922, in Cumberland, daughter of the late John P. and Clara Leisure Schott. She was retired as the postmistress for Elba and Macksburg following more than 25 years of service. She was a member of the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene, and she was also a member of the Aurelius Chapter # 30, Order of the Eastern Star, the National League of Postmasters, and the Noble County Senior Citizens. She loved quilting, reading, and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hesson, whom she married August 29, 1940, and who died May 22, 1990; one daughter, Delores E. Rossiter; one granddaughter, Tamara L. Rossiter; two grandsons, Tommy J. “Bub” Rossiter, II, and Duane Edward Hesson; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are one son, Denver Earl (Dorothy) Hesson of Marietta; one son-in-law, Tommy J. Rossiter of Caldwell; one sister, Eloise Miller of Illinois; three grandchildren, Lisa K. (Dana) Jennings of Caldwell, and Deanna I. Hesson and Doug E. (Michelle) Hesson, both of Marietta; one granddaughter-in-law, Lori Rossiter of Caldwell; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; many friends; and she was known as Grandma Judy to Pastor John and Belinda Powell and son Joshua.
Friends may call Thursday, October 6, 2016, from 4PM-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, October 7th at 11AM with Pastor John Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery.
