Obituary for Mary C. Brown
Mary C. Brown, age 81, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Columbus, died Monday, October 26, 2009, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born March 29, 1928, in Toledo, daughter of the late George and Mary Pitts Rice. She retired from Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, and she later owned and operated a day care for nearly eight years. She was a former member of the Caldwell Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, William R. Brown. Surviving are four daughters, Dee (Gary) Lahue of Caldwell, Sue (Lonnie) Fouty of Stafford, Virginia, Kathy (Dick) Ryan of Bradenton, Florida, and Beth (Dale) Phipps of Columbus; one sister, Georgianna Wilson of Lexington, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. A private funeral service will be observed at a later time. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
