Obituary for Martin E. Jennings
Martin E. Jennings, age 45, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at his home. He was born September 30, 1962, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of Larry R. and Bernadine C. Ritterbeck Jennings. He was a 1980 graduate of Caldwell High School, and a 1984 graduate of West Liberty State University, from which he earned a degree in education. He also received a Masters Degree in Education, and he was employed as an art instructor for grades K-6 by the Fort Frye School District. For the past several years, Mr. Jennings was a 1st grade classroom teacher for Fort Frye. He also owned and operated Midway Greenhouse in Caldwell. He was a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church, and he attended Sunday School at Ragan's Chapel in Hoskinsville. He was an avid Ohio State fan. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Ritterbeck; and his paternal grandparents, Clark and Beatrice Jennings. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Mary Ritterbeck of Cambridge; one brother, Dana (Lisa) Jennings of Caldwell; one niece, Sydney L. Jennings, and one nephew, Clark J. Jennings, both of Caldwell; his dog, Halle; and his cats, Steinbeck and Diego. Friends may call Thursday, September 18, 2008, from 11AM-2PM and 4-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 7PM with Pastor Sandra Payette officiating. A graveside service will be observed Friday, September 19th at 11AM at Jennings Cemetery in Caldwell. Friends and family are encouraged to wear Ohio State shirts and jeans. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Guernsey, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio, 43725, or the Noble County Ripples Support Group.
