Obituary for Martha Mae Groves
Martha Mae Groves, age 69, of Caldwell, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was born August 29, 1940, in Guernsey County, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Angie Carter McAuley. She was a 1958 graduate of Caldwell High School and a graduate of Capitol Beauty School in Columbus. She worked as a beautician most of her life, having been employed by Vita Mae?s Beauty Shop and The Hair Doctors. She was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary V. Ball, Louise Haga, and Hopa Woodford. Surviving are her husband, James Lee Groves, whom she married December 2, 1960; one daughter, Kimberly J. (Willie) Wilson of Belle Valley; one son, James Kirk (Patty) Groves of Columbus; seven brothers, James (Anneliese) McAuley and Clyde McAuley, both of Caldwell, Edgar (Betty) McAuley of Zanesville, Frank (Carol) McAuley, Jr. of Marietta, Ralph McAuley of Lowell, Harry (Janet) McAuley of Macksburg, and Wilbur (Karin) McAuley of Phoenix; four grandchildren, Shonna (Darren) Harding, Adrianne Wilson, Joshua Wilson, and Grace Wilson; one great-grandchild, Dakotah Harding; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, March 7, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, March 8th at 2PM with Pastor Helen Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell.
