Obituary for Martha Adeline Davis
Martha Adeline Davis, age 93, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born April 3, 1918, in Buffalo, daughter of the late Joe and Leah Lott Mendenhall. She attended Buffalo and Caldwell schools, and after working many places, including Ball's Supermarket in Caldwell, she retired from Johnny Appleseed. She was a member of the First Church of Christ on North Street. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Davis, whom she married October 31, 1937, and who died April 23, 1980; two sisters, Isabel Dowling and Bernadine Stewart; and one brother, Karl Mendenhall. Surviving are two sons, Bud (Brenda) Davis of Caldwell and Russ (Debbie) Davis of Zanesville; one sister, Bonnie Muhlbach of Caldwell; four grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her special niece and caregiver, Maureen Schultice of Caldwell. A memorial service will be observed Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, with Pastor Helen Lewis officiating.
