Obituary for Martha A. Watson
Martha A. Watson, age 99, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Harmar Place in Marietta. She was born April 19, 1916, in Noble County, daughter of the late Russell and Grace Cline King. She was employed by the Burger Bar in Caldwell in the early 1950s, and in 1973, she began working for the K-V Store in Caldwell until her retirement. She was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women group. She was an avid gardener and quilter, and she enjoyed crafting loomed rugs.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Watson, whom she married June 29, 1935, and who died August 18, 1973; one son, Raymond Watson; and one sister, Wava Oliver.
Surviving are her children, Fred (Judy) Watson of Marietta, James (Jane) Watson of Williamstown, West Virginia, and Teresa Mitchell of Normal, Illinois; her grandchildren, Kevin Watson, Wendy Blassingame, Meg Haller, Molly Watson, Chris Watson, Brandi Koscho, Reese Watson, Neal Watson, Eric Watson, Tara Chapman, and Erin Mitchell; three step-grandchildren; Stacey Urbaniak, Stephanie Starkey, and Shane Danford; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; three nieces, and one nephew.
Friends may call Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 12PM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Pastor Gary Fitzgerald and Keith Stotts officiating.
